About Us.
At Small Talk Speech Shop, it’s our goal to ensure that therapy feels like small talk - playtime for our littlest clients and a lunch time water cooler chat for adults.
Therapy at Small Talk Speech Shop means working together to explore, build and/or improve communication. Specifically, therapy might look like making small talk while knocking over towers made from blocks, playing a game or tackling a homework assignment, and for adults: ordering a flat white, making an important phone call or role playing an interview.
We may not always be talking about the important stuff in conversation with clients, but therapy at Small Talk Speech Shop uses the freshest (and of course evidence-based) techniques for speech-language improvement that make the big, meaningful conversations with family and friends possible.
Ready to start speech-language therapy that feels like small talk?

Our Process.
Our travelling clinic is adding people to its waitlist every week! When a space becomes available, we will reach out. You can expect the path to improved communication to look like this:

Step 1. We set up an initial consultation (50 minutes) to discuss your speech-language concerns. Following the appointment, we will discuss whether a formal assessment is required or provide recommendations for treatment.

Step 2. We schedule an assessment or begin therapy. We share the results of the assessment with you and recommend a therapy plan that addresses your particular needs. Assessments happen in your home or school (or a combination of both).

Step 3. If you decide to make small talk with us, your RSLP will provide speech-language therapy services as recommended. You can choose to have therapy in Vancouver or in the Fraser Valley. Children will have therapy in their home and at school (if appropriate), while adults will have therapy in their home or in a public setting depending on their speech goals. TeleHealth sessions may also be appropriate for some clients.
